Operating principle of the final drive assembly:
The working principle of the main reducer is to decelerate the power output from the transmission again to increase the torque, and then transmit the power to the differential.
Type of final drive:
(1) Single-stage main reducer: the main reducer of most cars is single-stage main reducer, and the reduction type is ordinary helical gear type or bevel gear type:
As shown in the figure, the bevel gear type main reducer is widely used in the rear sedan of rear-drive vehicles. The output power of the transmission is transmitted to the driving bevel gear through the transmission shaft, and then to the differential after the reduction of the driven bevel gear. The ordinary helical gear type main reducer is applied to the transmission of front drive vehicles.
Note: For the main reducer in the transmission of the front drive vehicle, if the engine is transversely placed in the engine room, the main reducer is of the ordinary helical gear type; If the engine is set longitudinally in the engine room, the final drive is of bevel gear type.
(2) Double-stage main reducer: on heavy trucks, double-stage main reducer is often used. The first stage is bevel gear reduction, and the second stage is ordinary helical gear reduction.
